About this plugin
Ample Metal Hellrazer is a meticulously sampled instrument plugin built around a Schecter Hellraiser nine-string guitar, engineered to deliver the extended range and aggressive voicing essential to contemporary heavy music production. The sampling methodology captures the instrument's sonic character across its full dynamic range, with particular attention paid to the bridge pickup's cutting clarity and sustain characteristics that define modern metalcore and djent aesthetics.
What distinguishes this instrument is its integration with Ample Guitar v4's redesigned composition environment. The Riffer 4 MIDI editor introduces a string visualization system that enforces authentic plucking mechanics directly within the piano roll - preventing same-string polyphony and intelligently calculating fingering positions based on musical input. This approach yields MIDI performances that maintain playability constraints of actual guitar technique rather than generating sequences that would be impossible to execute acoustically.

The "Strum Note" architecture treats chord components as unified objects, allowing unified manipulation of strum timing, velocity gradients, and legato characteristics. Dual Piano Roll and Guitar Tab views provide alternative editing perspectives for engineers who think in fretboard topology rather than pitch grids. The articulation system handles fingering, legato, and expression through straightforward parameter lanes rather than relying on velocity-mapped key switches, reducing the cognitive load of performance programming.
For producers working in drop-tuned metalcore, progressive metal, or technical extreme music, Hellrazer functions as both a compositional tool and a sonically credible instrument layer. The nine-string configuration addresses the low-frequency demands of modern tuning standards while maintaining definition across its extended range. This positions it as a practical alternative to sample library navigation and key switch management when writing riff-forward material.
