About this plugin
Ample Guitar T delivers a convincing acoustic guitar instrument built around a sampled Taylor 714CE, capturing the instrument's balanced tonality across finger, pick, and strum articulations. The plugin's core strength lies not merely in sample quality but in its execution layer: Ample Sound has constructed a comprehensive framework for realistic performance capture that addresses the inherent limitations of MIDI-to-acoustic workflows.
The interface presents dual editing modes - piano roll and guitar tab - enabling notation from either perspective while maintaining authentic voice leading constraints. A string visualization system prevents impossible polyphonic configurations on single strings, automatically managing fingering assignments that reflect actual playing mechanics. This approach meaningfully reduces the typical uncanny valley of synthetic acoustic guitar, where implausible voicings immediately register as artificial.

The Riffer 4 MIDI editor and redesigned Strummer engine allow rapid pattern generation without sacrificing playability nuance. The "Strum Note" paradigm treats chords as unified objects with synchronized legato, velocity gradient, and timing parameters - a practical solution to the fragmentation problem inherent in traditional DAW note editing.
Sonically, the 714CE character skews toward articulate, warm territory rather than bright or aggressive. The plugin suits singer-songwriter arrangements, acoustic pop productions, and film scoring where convincing detail matters more than dramatic character.
Compared to competitors like Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol or Spitfire's acoustic offerings, Ample Guitar T distinguishes itself through superior MIDI editing infrastructure rather than raw sampling depth. It functions best as a primary acoustic solution for producers who value playable workflow and realistic voice leading over extensive tonal customization.
