About this plugin
Ugritone's TRVE Cab represents a pragmatic approach to cabinet simulation for heavy music production. Rather than modeling a single speaker configuration, this impulse response loader lets you layer up to eight IR files simultaneously across dedicated channels, each with independent volume, pan, phase inversion, and filtering controls. This multi-mic stacking methodology sidesteps the sterile character that plagues single-IR solutions by allowing genuine tonal blending instead of relying on artificial gain or EQ compensation.
The plugin captures four mic positions from a single cabinet: Center (the industry standard 57 at 2-3 inches), Side (55-degree angle for brightness), Edge (speaker periphery for darker content), and Rear (open-back ambience). Rather than enforcing conventional phase relationships, TRVE Cab embraces the fact that digital simulation can break acoustic rules - layering multiple positions that would create phase cancellation in the real world yields cohesive, focused results here.

Sonically, TRVE Cab delivers the tonal density expected in modern metal production. The center mic provides foundation, while side and edge positions add dimension without muddiness. CPU footprint remains minimal, making it viable for live rigs and mixing sessions alike. Low latency and native plugin support across VST, AU, and AAX formats ensure compatibility.
TRVE Cab suits engineers comfortable with subtractive mixing and those seeking an alternative to modeling-based plugins. It excels for heavy rock and metal applications where tonal mass matters more than amp modeling authenticity. For producers wanting hands-on control and the option to load custom IRs, this represents solid value within a crowded cabinet simulation market.
