About this plugin
Jura by AIR Music Technology is a faithful digital recreation of the Korg Juno-106, the iconic 1982 synthesizer that became foundational to 80s pop and remains a staple in contemporary production. The plugin authentically models the original's single DCO architecture paired with a powerful sub oscillator, capturing the characteristic warmth of the VCF filter that defined hits from Eurythmics to The Weeknd.
What distinguishes Jura from other Juno emulations is AIR's commitment to both accuracy and modernization. The filter section includes saturation and drive controls absent from the original hardware, while dual DCO noise modes - vintage and modern - allow producers to dial in either period-appropriate grit or cleaner contemporary tones. A second envelope, not present on the original instrument, expands sound design possibilities beyond the classic limitations.

The effects chain represents a significant departure from hardware constraints. Beyond the Juno's signature chorus, which remains faithfully recreated with its characteristically lush character, Jura adds delay, reverb, and EQ circuits that integrate seamlessly into the signal flow. These additions prove invaluable for modern mixing workflows without compromising the core sonic identity.
AIR provides two interface approaches: a recreation of the original front panel for intuitive hardware emulation, and an extended modern UI offering deeper parameter access. For MPC/FORCE users, dedicated standalone versions include touch control integration.
Jura's real strength lies in its versatility - it satisfies purists seeking authentic 80s character while offering contemporary producers genuine workflow improvements. For anyone seeking that distinctive Juno sound with practical modern production tools, it remains the most comprehensive software implementation available.
