About this plugin
Breakstation is a Triaz expansion that consolidates 262 drum samples and 81 presets rooted in 1990s jungle and drum and bass aesthetics. The sample set emphasizes the technical foundation of that era: heavily compressed kicks with pronounced transients, snares processed through analog saturation, and intricately layered hi-hat patterns designed for the breakneck tempos that defined the genre. Rather than romanticizing the sound, Wave Alchemy has captured the actual sonic signatures - the grit and coloration that emerged from hardware limitations and studio techniques of the period.
The expansion functions within Triaz, leveraging the host instrument's synthesis and effects architecture. This integration allows producers to move beyond sample playback into genuine sound design territory. The presets serve as starting points rather than finished products. Each can be decomposed, resampled, and processed through Triaz's modulation and effects chains, enabling customization that extends well beyond the original samples.

Breakstation appeals primarily to electronic music producers working in drum and bass, liquid funk, or breakcore, though the sample library maintains enough character to influence adjacent genres seeking period-authentic textures. Engineers designing hybrid kits - combining acoustic drums with processed breaks - will find the samples stack effectively without overwhelming a mix. The expansion is most valuable for producers already invested in the Triaz ecosystem who want authentic 90s source material without relying on licensed sample packs or hunting through archives. It represents a focused, purpose-built tool for a specific sonic palette rather than a generalist drum library.
