About this plugin
The Resource - Lost Tapes is an extensive phrase library built on Ueberschall's Elastik engine, drawing from rediscovered archival recordings originally captured for the 2002 Vintage Licks & Phrases release. The collection spans over 11,000 loops and instrumental phrases performed by session musicians across multiple instruments, providing genuinely usable material for contemporary production rather than dated sample packs.
The sonic palette emphasizes authenticity, favoring recorded performances over synthetic construction. This approach yields character-driven material particularly suited for producers working in house, hip hop, soul, funk, and jazz contexts, though the library proves equally valuable as textural elements in electronic and experimental work. The phrases range from short, self-contained hooks to longer melodic and rhythmic passages that function as structural building blocks or solo scaffolding.

Technically, the Elastik engine provides essential flexibility. Loops time-stretch and transpose without the artifacts common to earlier sampling technology, and the interface permits rapid auditioning and arrangement. The inclusion of variation takes on previously released material alongside genuinely new recordings expands creative options without redundant duplication.
For working producers, The Resource - Lost Tapes functions most effectively as a reference library and compositional catalyst rather than a finished-product solution. The material rewards selective use and integration with original arrangement work. While the collection's breadth presents some navigation challenges, the fundamental recording quality and diversity justify exploration. It represents a practical resource for producers seeking authentic instrumental elements without the limitations of vintage sample libraries or the homogeneity of modern loop packs.
