About this plugin
Ueberschall's Soul Beats delivers a meticulously recorded multitrack drum library tailored for producers working within soul, funk, and R&B contexts. The collection spans over 7 GB of material containing 2800+ individual loops organized across sixteen tempo-based folders, ranging from 60 to 147 BPM. This breadth accommodates everything from slow ballads to uptempo grooves, with Elastik's tempo-manipulation engine allowing seamless integration into projects of any speed.
The library's dual organizational structure distinguishes it from typical loop collections. The Mixes folder provides 285 finished stereo renderings for immediate use, while the Singletracks folder exposes every microphone source - kick inside/outside, snare top/bottom, hihat, toms, ride, overheads, and room mics. This multitrack architecture grants engineers genuine control over their drum sound, enabling precise blending of natural room ambience, individual mic processing, and dynamic manipulation rather than forcing compromises inherent to pre-mixed material.

The performances themselves draw from authentic soul traditions: 1960s Motown grooves, Northern Soul patterns, shuffle variations, and rimshot-driven arrangements. Rather than clinical programming, these recordings capture the nuanced timing variations and dynamics that characterize human drumming, making them suitable for both sample-based production and as reference material for programming.
Soul Beats represents a practical solution for producers seeking authentic period-appropriate drum textures without sacrificing mixing flexibility. It occupies a distinct position among drum libraries by prioritizing sonic character alongside technical control, making it particularly valuable for those pursuing genuine soul and funk aesthetics.
