About this plugin
Ueberschall's Slide Guitar 2 is a loop and phrase library designed specifically for producers working in blues, country, and roots-influenced music. The collection contains over 450 electric slide guitar performances spanning 1.7 GB, with individual phrases extending to 42 seconds in length. The tempos range from 92 to 128 BPM, though the performances emphasize a laid-back, half-time feel that sits naturally in downtempo contexts.
The library's technical approach offers meaningful flexibility. Each phrase is provided in three distinct versions: DI recordings for maximum processing freedom, amplified versions ready for reverb or delay treatment, and a blended FX version with effects already applied for immediate usability. This tri-format approach accommodates various mixing workflows, whether engineers prefer starting from a clean slate or working from a partially processed foundation.

Sonically, Slide Guitar 2 emphasizes brighter tones and extended sustain compared to its acoustic counterpart, delivering an electric character that cuts through dense arrangements. The performances employ both steel and glass bottlenecks, contributing textural variation across the collection.
The library's organizational structure allows individual phrases to be chained together within folders, enabling the construction of extended performances. Suitable ending phrases are included, streamlining composition work. Ueberschall's decision to maintain identical folder structures across Slide Guitar 2, the original Slide Guitar, and their Delta Blues library facilitates seamless combination of material across titles.
This collection represents a solid resource for producers seeking authentic slide guitar textures without requiring session musicians. It's most valuable for those working in traditional blues, bluegrass, country, and folk contexts, though the moody character translates effectively to contemporary pop and alternative projects requiring period-appropriate texture.
