About this plugin
Ueberschall's RnB Neo Soul Guitars delivers a curated collection of 500+ guitar loops recorded at 70 BPM across 2.8 GB of sample content. The library captures performances on vintage Strat and semi-hollow ES-style guitars, engineered to provide both sonic authenticity and practical flexibility for contemporary production.
The core strength lies in its structural approach. Each of the 18+ phrase folders contains three distinct performance variations - picked lines, full chord voicings, and melodic solo passages - each stretching 27 seconds to provide genuine musical complexity. Critically, every variation ships in both amplified and DI versions, allowing engineers to either use the pre-amp-modeled options directly or apply their own signal chain processing. A premixed stereo bounce of the three amp performances rounds out each folder, serving as a quick-reference mix-down option.

The chord sequences themselves demonstrate sophisticated harmonic thinking typical of neo-soul arrangements, moving beyond basic triadic structures. The included PDF documentation maps each phrase's harmonic content, enabling producers to layer complementary instrumentation or extend performances through intelligent recombination. Sustained outro variations in each folder add practical closure options.
While the 70 BPM fixed tempo might initially seem limiting, Elastik's native tempo-stretching capabilities handle transposition to project-appropriate tempos effectively, though results vary depending on the phrase's melodic density.
RnB Neo Soul Guitars occupies a niche between loop library and reference toolset. It suits producers working in trap, hip-hop, lo-fi, and downtempo contexts who need convincingly played guitar textures without full session musician rates. The DI inclusion particularly appeals to engineers with developed guitar amp modeling chains. For neo-soul purists seeking authentic performance character, it delivers substance.
