About this plugin
Jazz Works Vol. 2 represents a substantial expansion of Ueberschall's construction kit library, delivering 1,300+ loops and phrases across 10 kits that span traditional jazz idioms from swing to bossa nova. The collection captures the unvarnished character of authentic jazz ensemble playing, recorded to tape-like fidelity using professional microphone technique and high-end conversion without subsequent editing or dynamic processing. This preservation of dynamic range distinguishes it from heavily compressed sample libraries and yields a more responsive, human feel when layered into productions.
The architecture centers on extended 16 and 32-bar phrases performed across drums, upright bass, comping instruments, and solo voices - piano, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, flugelhorn, and flute. Kit tempos range from 130 to 250 BPM, accommodating everything from languorous ballad work to uptempo Afro-Cuban derived material. Integration within Elastik's framework provides genuine utility; tempo and pitch manipulation remains musically transparent at these moderate speeds, while the scale and key adjustment tools offer harmonic flexibility without degrading tonal character.

This library suits composers working across broadcast media, easy listening, lounge, and hybrid electronic production where authentic jazz textures carry narrative weight. Producers building from scratch will find the comprehensive instrumentation cohesive; those augmenting existing arrangements benefit from the archive's tonal consistency and live dynamics. Relative to competing libraries emphasizing either academic reconstruction or heavily processed groove sources, Jazz Works Vol. 2 occupies pragmatic middle ground - sonically believable without demanding period-appropriate instrumentation or extensive sound design work.
