About this plugin
Jazz Works Vol. 1 is a comprehensive sample library built on Ueberschall's Elastik platform, delivering over 7GB of meticulously recorded jazz performance material across 10 construction kits. The collection features more than 1200 loops and phrases sourced from live session musicians, capturing the dynamic character of working ensemble jazz without post-recording compression or excessive editing. This unprocessed approach preserves the natural timbre and transient complexity essential to credible jazz integration.
The sonic palette spans traditional and contemporary jazz contexts. Core instrumentation includes upright bass with multiple microphone and piezo capsule options, acoustic and electric pianos, jazz guitar comping, and a full horn section featuring baritone and tenor saxophones, flute, flugelhorn, and trumpet with mute variations. Drum kits are deconstructed into individual elements - kick, snare top and bottom, hi-hat, cymbals, toms, overheads, and room mics - enabling precise mixing control and blending with external sources.

Performance lengths of 16 or 32 bars provide genuine rhythmic context rather than isolated snippets, critical for maintaining musical coherence. Elastik's manipulation suite handles tempo, pitch, and key shifting without degrading sample quality, streamlining adaptation to diverse project requirements.
Jazz Works Vol. 1 serves producers working across hip-hop, R&B, soul, and electronic genres seeking authentic jazz textures that transcend genre clichés. While positioned as a construction kit library rather than a synthesizer or effect processor, its utility as a referenced tool for understanding jazz performance dynamics and arranging strategies makes it valuable for any producer developing sophistication in harmonic and rhythmic composition beyond electronic sources alone.
