About this plugin
Ueberschall's Jazz Up delivers a meticulously recorded trio session capturing the interplay between acoustic piano, upright bass, and drums across ten construction kits spanning 90 to 172 BPM. The library houses nearly 1000 loops extracted from extended performances, offering genuine stylistic range from breakbeat and acid jazz to fusion and funk variations.
The sonic architecture reflects careful microphone placement and mixing decisions. Piano recordings arrive in three distinct flavors: fully processed versions on acoustic and electric instruments, plus dry captures of each. Bass documentation proves particularly thorough, with both DI and amplified versions of fretted Precision and Music Man basses alongside fretless recordings that evoke Jaco Pastorius' melodic sensibilities. Drum loops exist as cohesive stereo performances and isolated tracks (kick, snare, hihat, cymbals, overheads, room), enabling surgical remix possibilities.

Rather than relying on sampled horn sections or synthesized textures, Jazz Up prioritizes the raw authenticity of three accomplished musicians responding to each other. Eike Wulfmeier's keyboard phrasing, Jürgen Attig's melodic bass lines, and Matthias Meusel's pocket-conscious drumming demonstrate why the trio format remains relevant across contemporary production contexts.
The Elastik player interface provides tempo flexibility alongside standard timestretching controls. Construction kits contain four to seven parts including A and B sections, solos, and variations, accommodating both seamless looping and chopped hip-hop applications. With individual loop lengths reaching 42 seconds, there's substantial performance development within each take rather than repetitive four-bar cycles.
Jazz Up serves producers seeking authentic groove foundations without sacrificing editing flexibility or sound-design control.
