About this plugin
Ueberschall's Delta Blues is a construction kit library that captures the harmonic and rhythmic vocabulary of Mississippi Delta blues with genuine scholarly attention to detail. Built on the Elastik platform, it comprises ten extended kits containing nearly 6GB of meticulously recorded material spanning over 900 loops and phrases. Each kit provides three primary sections plus dedicated intro and outro elements, with individual parts extending to one minute in length.
The recordings were captured at historically appropriate tempos ranging from 46 to 64 BPM, then tagged in double time within the software for practical workflow integration. This approach allows producers to manipulate tempo and pitch without the artifacts that plague heavily processed material. The instrumentation roster includes acoustic and resonator guitars, electric bass, and comprehensive drum components - precisely the ensemble that defined the sound.

What distinguishes Delta Blues technically is the dual signal path recording methodology. Guitars and bass exist in both mic'ed and direct input versions, providing either pre-shaped tonal character or raw material amenable to individual processing chains. Drums are similarly decomposed into discrete stems (kick, snare, hihat, toms, ride, room, overheads) alongside pre-mixed alternatives, enabling granular mix control. Atmospheric noise loops accompany each section, allowing tasteful injection of period-appropriate character.
This library serves songwriters and media composers requiring authentic blues foundation work, particularly those scoring projects demanding genuine southern vernacular. Among construction kit libraries, Delta Blues distinguishes itself through honest recording practices and granular editing options rather than aggressive processing. It functions as a reliable reference collection and compositional springboard rather than a stylistic shortcut.
