About this plugin
Breaking Beats delivers a comprehensive drum library that prioritizes flexibility and sonic control. The 4GB collection contains over 2,800 loops organized across 12 construction kits, distributed via two Elastik soundbanks: one offering pre-mixed stereo drums and another providing full multitrack separation.
The pre-mixed soundbank features 440+ loops rendered in two distinct processing profiles. The vintage chain applies minimal compression and limiting for a raw, uncolored character that preserves the natural dynamics of the performance. The modern preset enhances both frequency extremes and applies high-end reverb, yielding a more polished, radio-ready aesthetic. This dual-mix approach allows quick A/B comparisons and fast iteration during arrangement phases.

The multitrack soundbank provides granular control for engineers requiring custom mixing. Each performance includes individually isolated tracks: dual kick mics (inside and outside), snare top and bottom, dedicated hihat, multiple tom and cymbal channels, plus overhead and room mics for spatial definition. This isolation level enables precise EQ, compression, and layering decisions without committing to predetermined mixing choices.
Sonically, Breaking Beats emphasizes syncopated, groove-oriented material that functions across multiple genres despite its dance-music foundation. The performances demonstrate dynamic variation and intentional musical phrasing rather than static quantized loops, making them suitable for live-instrumentation-based production.
The library appeals to producers seeking either immediate, polished drum tracks or those requiring deep mixing control. It occupies practical middle ground between convenience and customization, making it a legitimate tool for commercial production rather than a specialized niche resource.
