About this plugin
Brass Funk & Soul is a comprehensive construction kit collection from Ueberschall that centers on a fundamental truth about funk production: nothing moves a mix quite like a properly arranged and performed brass section. Across five distinct kits, this library provides 3.7GB of professionally recorded material spanning 850+ loops and phrases, with original tempos ranging from 114 to 144 BPM.
The core strength lies in the brass arrangements themselves. Ten horn players - six trumpets and four flugelhorns - were recorded with both ensemble and individual mic techniques, giving producers unprecedented control over voicing and tone shaping. You can use the pre-mixed stereo brass for immediate impact, or dig into individual tracks to apply your own EQ, compression, and spatial processing. This dual approach proves invaluable when you need both quick workflow wins and nuanced customization.

Beyond the brass, each kit contains a full rhythmic foundation including separately tracked drums (kick in and out, snare top and bottom, hats, toms, overheads, room, and cymbals), electric bass with amp and DI options, electric piano, clavinet, guitars, synth bass, kalimba, and percussion elements. The architecture allows genuine arrangement flexibility rather than forcing you toward predetermined sounds.
This library speaks directly to producers and engineers working in funk, soul, and related genres where horn sections aren't merely textural additions but foundational compositional elements. The Elastik engine handles tempo and pitch shifting convincingly across the range, making these kits adaptable to various project speeds. For those seeking authentic funk instrumentation recorded to professional standards, Brass Funk & Soul delivers the core materials needed to build convincing, soulfully arranged tracks.
