About this plugin
UAP (Unique Audio Plugin) is a sample-based synthesis and effects environment built for Kontakt 6 that specializes in textural, sci-fi oriented sound design. The engine centers on time-stretching and granular processing, allowing users to map single samples across the keyboard via the DILATION function, which generates playable instruments from arbitrary source material in real time. This approach proves particularly effective for creating evolving pads, pitched percussion, and abstract melodic elements from drums, vocals, or field recordings.
The plugin's character derives from its effects architecture rather than synthesis modeling. The ANTI-GRAVITY module provides 35 effects selections including standard processors alongside more experimental algorithms, while LIFT offers 41 time-dilation effects for temporal manipulation. The PROPULSION section adds rhythmic modulation with adjustable speed and waveform shaping, and a built-in tube distortion stage (REACTOR) colors the signal path. The GREEN FIREBALLS and SIGNALS sections control time and delay feedback respectively, creating the unpredictable, glitchy textures the interface suggests.

UAP performs best for sound designers, film composers, and electronic producers working in ambient, experimental, or cinematic genres. The 20 included instruments demonstrate capable preset design, though the plugin's real value emerges when treating external samples. The CASE randomizer function enables quick exploration, though it sacrifices precision for discovery. Compared to dedicated granular tools like Grains or sample-manipulation instruments like Kontakt's built-in engines, UAP trades deep parameter editing for streamlined workflow and distinctive sonic coloration. The plugin is most effective as a specialized texture generator rather than a general-purpose sampler.
