About this plugin
Time Off Audio's dime[mb] is a multiband dynamic processor designed with the precision demands of modern mixing in mind. The plugin divides the frequency spectrum into up to four independent bands, allowing surgical control over compression, expansion, and saturation characteristics across different regions simultaneously. This approach proves particularly valuable when tackling frequency-dependent dynamic issues that traditional full-spectrum compression cannot address effectively.
The sonic character leans toward transparency when configured conservatively, though the integrated saturation stages introduce harmonic coloration when pushed. The interface prioritizes workflow efficiency with clear visual feedback on band activity and frequency response. dime[mb] excels in mastering applications, vocal processing, and mix bus control where selective dynamic intervention prevents unwanted tonal shifts from broad-stroke compression.

Compared to competitors like FabFilter Pro-MB or iZotope Ozone's dynamics module, dime[mb] occupies a middle ground between surgical precision and musical flavor. Its relatively straightforward parameter set makes it accessible while maintaining the depth required for detailed mixing decisions. The plugin serves experienced engineers seeking reliable, artifact-free multiband processing without excessive complexity.
