About this plugin
Cyclop is Sugar Bytes' monophonic bass synthesizer designed explicitly for modern electronic music production, particularly dubstep, trap, and experimental bass genres. The plugin's architecture centers on two flexible oscillators offering traditional waveforms (sawtooth), analog emulation, FM synthesis, spectral processing, and wavetable capability via sample import. This dual-generator approach provides the harmonic density required for aggressive low-end sound design.
The instrument's defining characteristic is its Wobble Generator, a tempo-synced modulation system that rhythmically modulates both oscillators and filter parameters with selectable waveforms. A knob recorder captures automation gestures in real time, allowing dynamic performance-style control over wobble intensity and character. This feature directly addresses the rhythmic complexity expected in modern bass music, where static timbral movement feels outdated.

The modulation architecture extends beyond wobble through five simultaneous modulation sources including traditional envelope and LFO stages, a 16-step sequencer, and the interactive "sound knob." These route to 16 target parameters, enabling sophisticated sound sculpting without overwhelming the interface.
The FX section operates as a pattern-based multi-effect sequencer with four lanes of effects grouped by function: pitch manipulation (pitch looper with 8 lengths), vinyl emulation (including tape stop and scratch effects), and delay algorithms. Effects sync to the FX knob automatable controller or the internal sequencer, echoing the rhythmic-effect philosophy of Effectrix and Turnado.
Cyclop suits producers seeking deep bass synthesis with performance-oriented control and rhythmic sound design as core priorities rather than afterthoughts. The 800+ included presets, developed by respected sound designers, provide immediate starting points for both exploration and professional application.
