About this plugin
Noah Bells is Soundiron's meticulously sampled collection of 21 Indian Khadki bells spanning a wide pitch range from deep, resonant fundamentals to brittle high frequencies. The library captures authentic hand-crafted bronze bells ranging from over two feet to less than an inch in diameter, each fitted with carved wooden clappers. The sonic character emphasizes a dark, raspy quality with substantial low and mid-range body, complex overtones, and naturally variable sustain that rewards nuanced playing.
The sampling approach addresses a critical gap in virtual bell instruments. Rather than relying on generic samples, Soundiron captured each bell across multiple velocity layers with extensive round-robin variation, then provided both close-miked dry recordings and distant cathedral captures. This dual-perspective approach grants producers genuine flexibility in blending tonal character with spatial context. The scripted Kontakt interface includes practical controls: attack and release envelopes, transient tightening for articulation control, dynamic swell functionality, and vibrato modulation. A step-sequencing arpeggiator system enables pattern-based performance with multiple modes, while an optional sub-synth module allows tonal reinforcement of the fundamental frequencies.

Noah Bells suits orchestral and cinematic composers seeking authentic Indian percussion with sculptural quality. Sound designers working on world music productions or ethically grounded scores will appreciate the instrument's genuine provenance and tonal complexity. The included convolution reverbs and textural ambience presets extend usability beyond simple bell playback, functioning as effective components within broader cinematic arrangements. The plugin's scripted controls prioritize musical expressiveness over superficial sound design, making it a legitimate choice for producers valuing authenticity and playability over convenience.
