About this plugin
Glitch Hero is a comprehensive sample and instrument library designed by composer Spencer Nunamaker for Native Instruments' Kontakt platform. The collection comprises seven distinct categories of meticulously crafted percussion, effects, and synthesized elements tailored for electronic music production and sound design work.
The library's sonic foundation rests on unconventional source material. Crystal draws from glass field recordings processed into fragmented, crystalline percussion that cuts through dense mixes. Cube repurposes everyday office environments - paper crunches, pencil snaps, fax machines, water coolers - into usable glitchy percussion samples. Drip extends this approach with organic yet surgical percussive sources and synth elements, sourced from anachronistic signal paths and vintage equipment.

Glitch Hero functions as both a sample library and instrument platform. It provides thousands of individual samples organized across the seven categories, alongside dozens of preset instruments that facilitate rapid composition and sound design iteration. Full Kontakt Player compatibility ensures accessibility without requiring the full Kontakt software, while native support for Komplete Kontrol, Maschine, and S-Series keyboards enables intuitive hardware integration.
The library's technical strength lies in its consistent sound design philosophy. Each sample receives careful attention to frequency balance and transient characteristics, making them directly applicable rather than requiring extensive processing. This approach suits producers working in IDM, EDM, ambient, and soundtrack composition who need unconventional percussion sources that function cohesively within modern production contexts.
Glitch Hero occupies a specific niche within effects and sample library offerings - it prioritizes sonic character and compositional utility over comprehensive percussion coverage, making it most valuable as a supplementary tool for experienced producers seeking distinctive textural elements.
