About this plugin
Origins Vol.2: Music Box & Plucked Piano is a Kontakt-based instrument designed to generate ambient and atmospheric textures through the combination of two distinctly characterized sound sources. The music box provides a delicate, pitched melodic element with inherent tonal limitations that naturally evoke nostalgia or unease depending on context, while the plucked piano contributes percussive attack and harmonic complexity that grounds the composition.
The plugin's primary strength lies in its Multi-Arpeggio Designer (MAD), which handles the rhythmic interaction between these two instruments. Rather than requiring manual sequencing, MAD generates coordinated arpeggiated patterns that evolve organically, allowing producers to establish generative textures quickly. The system responds to chord input, making it accessible for rapid ideation without sacrificing tonal control.

The preset library of over one hundred patches provides a substantial starting point, developed by professional composers with experience in scoring atmospheric and narrative-driven content. This library represents the practical application of the underlying sound design rather than serving as creative ceiling.
Origins Vol.2 targets composers working in film, television, and games who require period-appropriate or psychologically suggestive textures without the time investment of building equivalent patches from scratch. Experienced sound designers will find the architecture straightforward enough to modify extensively. The requirement for the full Kontakt version rather than the player limits its accessibility to users with existing Native Instruments investment.
Technically, it occupies a specific niche between sampled instruments and generative tools, useful when conventional approaches feel either too predetermined or too labor-intensive for exploratory composition.
