About this plugin
pure:comp represents a pragmatic approach to dynamic control, prioritizing workflow efficiency without sacrificing sonic results. The plugin employs machine learning algorithms trained on input-specific profiles to automatically configure compression parameters, eliminating the traditional interdependency issues between threshold, ratio, attack, and release that typically demand iterative adjustment.
The core compression engine operates through a single unified control that modulates the intensity of processing across these parameters simultaneously. This design philosophy acknowledges a fundamental truth: most compression tasks don't require granular parameter access, yet conventional compressors demand it anyway. A unified strength control paired with intelligent automation delivers competitive results in a fraction of the time.

pure:comp distinguishes itself through two supplementary controls. The Style parameter offers three distinct processing characters - clean, mixed, and dirty - providing tonal flexibility without algorithmic switching overhead. The Clarity function implements spectral compression, dynamically addressing frequency-specific dynamic issues rather than applying broadband gain reduction uniformly. This approach proves particularly valuable for controlling muddiness or taming uneven vocal characteristics.
The plugin suits engineers prioritizing efficiency across large session counts and producers seeking immediate, musically coherent results. Those accustomed to granular compressor control may find the abstracted parameter set limiting, though the visualization feedback helps demystify the processing chain.
Among similar AI-assisted dynamics tools, pure:comp's strength lies in its honest simplicity - it doesn't oversell automation as a creative replacement, but rather as a legitimate time-saving tool for competent engineers who understand what compression should accomplish.
