The SMR divides the audio spectrum into six independently resonant bandpass filters, each locked to a twenty-note scale that spans Western tunings, alternate temperaments, gamelan scales, and microtonal systems. This architecture makes it exceptionally versatile: you can deploy it as an additive synthesis engine, vocoder, multiband dynamics processor, spectral analyzer, or CV-driven quantizer and arpeggiator.
The sonic character is where the SMR distinguishes itself from conventional parametric or graphic EQs.
