About this plugin
The SCHETCHface Drum Magic Transient Shaper is a surgical tool designed for reshaping percussive elements with surgical precision. This plugin isolates and manipulates the attack and sustain characteristics of drum sounds, allowing engineers to independently control transient intensity without affecting the body of the sound. The processing approach centers on envelope analysis, detecting percussive peaks and providing intuitive controls for attack tightening, sustain enhancement, and release character.
What distinguishes Drum Magic is its responsiveness to complex drum kit elements. Rather than applying blanket compression or gating, the plugin preserves the natural decay while offering control over impact definition. This makes it invaluable for tightening loose kick drums, adding punch to snares buried in dense arrangements, or salvaging poorly recorded live percussion.

The interface prioritizes workflow efficiency with dedicated controls for transient threshold, sustain depth, and output compensation. It performs exceptionally well on individual drum tracks or submixes, adapting well to both acoustic and electronic sources. For mixing engineers seeking surgical transient control without the side effects of traditional compression, Drum Magic occupies a practical middle ground between transparent enhancement and dramatic reshaping.
