About this plugin
The VSR REV6000 is Relab's digital emulation of the Lexicon PCM91, the reverberator that defined the sound of major film productions and high-end recording studios throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Using machine learning analysis of the original hardware's frequency response, decay characteristics, and spatial imaging, Relab has produced a convincingly transparent recreation that captures both the algorithmic precision and subtle coloration of the source unit.
The plugin excels across two primary use cases. For critical mixing work requiring transparent depth without audible artifacts, the REV6000 delivers clean, natural-sounding ambience across room and hall algorithms. For aesthetic applications, it imparts a recognizable warmth and presence that sits distinctly forward in a mix - a characteristic that explains its prevalence in professional mixing chains. The algorithm handles low-frequency content with particular control, avoiding the muddiness that plagues less carefully designed reverbs.

Implementation focuses on accuracy rather than feature novelty. The control set mirrors the hardware's straightforward interface, prioritizing intuitive parameter adjustment over deep menu diving. CPU efficiency is competitive, making it practical for mixing sessions with multiple instances.
The REV6000 serves producers and engineers prioritizing sonic character alongside technical precision. It occupies the professional mixing space between transparent algorithmic reverbs and deliberately colored vintage alternatives. For those working in film, television, or contemporary music production seeking the specific sonic signature that dominated high-level studio work for decades, the REV6000 remains the definitive choice.
