About this plugin
Producertech's Hip Hop Production Techniques course with Kaelin Ellis functions as both educational content and a practical toolkit for producers working in contemporary beat-making environments. Rather than a traditional plugin, this offering delivers a comprehensive production methodology alongside tangible assets: detailed Ableton Live sessions demonstrating Ellis's workflow, a curated 100MB sample library from Loopmasters, and video tutorials capturing his real-time creative process.
Ellis approaches hip hop production with a foundation in organic sound design and sample manipulation. His methodology prioritizes rhythmic development through beat boxing and granular editing before introducing melodic elements, a workflow particularly effective for producers seeking to establish groove first. The course demonstrates practical applications of drum bus processing, custom synth patching, and effects automation within Ableton Live, positioning it as essential viewing for artists working in this DAW.

The technical approach emphasizes layering precision and spatial awareness in arrangement, covering both foundational drum processing and more sophisticated techniques like the Acid FX rack workflows Ellis favors. This appeals directly to producers aiming to move beyond basic beat construction toward professional-grade production depth.
Best suited for intermediate to advanced hip hop producers and electronic music creators familiar with Ableton Live, the course assumes prior production knowledge while offering genuinely novel insights into Ellis's recognized aesthetic. His production credentials, including work with Kaytranada and Marc Rebillet, lend credibility within contemporary online production circles. The combination of tutorial content, project files, and samples creates lasting utility beyond the initial learning phase.
