About this plugin
Swivel Audio's Hitstrip is a comprehensive channel strip plugin that consolidates dynamic processing, EQ, and tonal shaping into a single, deliberately streamlined interface. Built on the sonic foundation of Grammy-winning production work, the plugin combines three distinct EQ modes - Dynamic, Transient, and Tonal - each approaching frequency balance from different technical perspectives. The Dynamic mode prioritizes responsive, frequency-dependent compression characteristics. The Transient mode shapes attack and decay envelopes across the spectrum. The Tonal mode delivers traditional surgical EQ capabilities with note selection and spectrum grab functionality for precision work.
The nine integrated effect modules generate over 61,000 possible strip configurations, providing genuine flexibility without resorting to screen-cramming complexity. A prominently featured "color" control emulates analog tape saturation characteristics, adding harmonic warmth and compression-like density to digital sources - a practical solution to the clinical quality many engineers encounter in modern DAW workflows.

Hitstrip occupies middle ground between simple EQ plugins and heavyweight console emulations. It's best suited for mixing engineers and producers who value decisive sound-shaping without excessive parameter diving, and for those working within pop, rock, and electronic production where quick tonal transformations are standard practice. The included preset library, derived from documented chart hits, provides useful reference points and starting points for session work.
The three-year development cycle resulted in genuinely reduced cognitive load compared to competitor channel strips. While not positioned as a boutique mastering tool, Hitstrip delivers functional versatility and sonic character that justifies integration into professional mixing workflows.
