About this plugin
Pitch Innovations' Streets of North India Bundle delivers meticulously recorded percussion ensembles captured from authentic street performance traditions across Maharashtra and Odisha. The collection comprises three distinct kits - Dhol Tasha, Sambal, and Singha Baja - each sourced from live ensemble recordings and processed to integration-ready standards within the Sonic Atlas platform (v1.1.5 or later).
The technical architecture emphasizes playability and control. Each kit includes multi-velocity sampled one-shots with round-robin variations alongside pre-recorded loops and fills at variable tempos, enabling users to either sequence individual strikes or layer complete ensemble recordings. Multiple microphone positions (close and ambient channels) allow tonal shaping without sacrificing authenticity. The Dhol Tasha Kit's 852 loops paired with 600 one-shots drawn from 11 musicians represents the most comprehensive offering, while the Sambal and Singha Baja kits provide complementary sonic palettes with comparable depth.

This bundle targets producers working across world music, contemporary composition, film scoring, and electronic production who require genuinely acoustic percussion textures rather than synthesized approximations. The raw character and ensemble interplay resist the sterility common in many ethnic percussion libraries, though success depends on understanding the cultural context and rhythmic cycles underlying each tradition.
Against comparable offerings, the Streets of North India Bundle distinguishes itself through source authenticity and recorded ensemble dynamics rather than isolated instrument sampling. This approach demands more intentional arrangement but yields performances with genuine swing and human interaction absent from modular percussion tools.
