About this plugin
EXHALE represents a fundamental shift in how modern production tools approach vocal synthesis and manipulation. Rather than emulating traditional vocal instruments or session singers, Output designed this engine specifically for contemporary music production, film scoring, and sound design where processed, textured vocal elements serve as primary sound sources rather than naturalistic performances.
The plugin's architecture centers on three operational modes. Notes mode enables chromatic pitch control across a substantial library of vocal samples, Loops mode sequences longer vocal phrases with rhythmic precision, and Slices mode allows granular manipulation of segmented vocal material. This tripartite approach accommodates everything from melodic lead lines to atmospheric texture and rhythmic vocal percussion.

Technically, EXHALE distinguishes itself through extensive processing capabilities built into the engine. Tempo-synced effects, sophisticated pitch-shifting algorithms, and modulation systems operate with the kind of precision typically reserved for dedicated synthesis tools. The sound design philosophy emphasizes processing artifacts as aesthetic features rather than drawbacks - the 10 GB sample library was deliberately shaped through analog gear, tape saturation, and vocoder processing to yield inherently "modern" vocal character.
The 500 included presets reflect substantial development investment, each incorporating custom macro assignments and effect chains tailored to specific sonic contexts. This approach accelerates workflow while providing meaningful starting points rather than generic templates.
EXHALE occupies a unique position among vocal tools. It appeals to producers seeking processed vocal textures without session singer logistics, engineers developing distinctive sonic signatures, and sound designers treating voices as malleable sound sources. For contemporary production contexts where vocal authenticity matters less than sonic character and integration, EXHALE delivers considerable creative utility.
