About this plugin
OTTX represents a sophisticated approach to multiband dynamics processing that departs from conventional compression architecture. Rather than simple downward compression across bands, it implements bidirectional dynamics control, allowing independent upward and downward compression on three phase-coherent split frequencies. This dual-compression model addresses a persistent limitation in traditional multiband processing: the inability to simultaneously lift weak material while controlling peaks within the same frequency range.
The plugin's per-band inflator waveshaping deserves particular attention. Operating independently on each band, this harmonic saturation tool generates perceived loudness and density without the artifacts of conventional clipping. The scalability from subtle harmonic enhancement to aggressive tonal coloration makes it adaptable across material ranging from transparent professional mastering to heavily processed sound design.

The technical foundation is solid. Linkwitz-Riley crossovers at adjustable frequencies provide phase-coherent splitting with minimal artifacts. The sidechain high-pass filter addresses a practical problem in bass-heavy mixes where sub frequencies would cause unnecessary gain reduction pumping. Smart Clip architecture prevents ceiling violations while maintaining sonic integrity.
OTTX occupies a middle ground between surgical mastering tools and aggressive character processors. It suits mastering engineers seeking precise multi-frequency dynamics control, mixing engineers addressing problematic frequency ranges, and producers seeking harmonic enhancement integrated into compression workflows. Its complexity demands engagement rather than casual use, positioning it as an instrument for experienced practitioners rather than a one-knob solution. The parallel compression mix capability adds versatility for density-focused applications without sacrificing transient definition.
