About this plugin
Paragon stands apart in the convolution reverb landscape by solving a fundamental problem: the bloated impulse response libraries that plague traditional convolution processors. Rather than requiring dozens of recordings to cover variations in decay, room size, and timbre, Paragon applies spectral analysis and re-synthesis technology developed with the University of York to decompose and reconstruct IRs. This approach allows genuine modification of decay time, spatial dimensions, and brightness without the phase artifacts and degradation that plague time-stretching algorithms.
The technical execution is sophisticated. Paragon analyzes 3D impulse responses and decomposes them into constituent elements, enabling parameter tweaking that maintains acoustic authenticity. You can extend a church reverb to cathedral proportions or compress it into a chapel, adjust frequency-dependent decay independently across the spectrum, and apply per-channel EQ and filtering without sacrificing sonic integrity. The plugin supports surround configurations up to 7.1.2, making it genuinely useful for immersive mixing, particularly Dolby Atmos work where traditional reverb approaches often fail across multiple channels.

For mixing engineers and sound designers, Paragon represents meaningful workflow improvement. A modest IR library becomes genuinely versatile, eliminating the tedium of managing hundreds of variations. The crossfeed controls per channel address real surround-mixing challenges, while switchable LFE handling adds practical flexibility.
The sonic character remains faithful to source spaces while remaining malleable enough for creative work. Paragon targets engineers who value both authenticity and control - those tired of choosing between static convolution reverbs and overly parameterized algorithmic alternatives. It's a genuinely innovative approach to a solved problem, executed with technical rigor.
