About this plugin
Niche Audio's Neuro DnB Wav Pack addresses a specific production need that has gone largely underserved: authentic drum and bass textures rooted in the neurofunk and liquid funk subgenres. Rather than functioning as a traditional effects processor, this is a curated sample library that operates within your DAW's native sampler or compatible third-party instruments. The pack contains meticulously processed breaks, atmospheric pads, and processed percussion sourced from classic era recordings and contemporary neurofunk productions.
What distinguishes this collection is its technical approach to preservation. Niche Audio has captured these sounds at their point of maximum character - after compression, saturation, and EQ processing - rather than distributing raw materials that require extensive post-processing. This means the samples arrive with the harmonic density and frequency balance that defined the genre's golden period while remaining flexible enough for modern production contexts.

The pack suits producers working in drum and bass, liquid funk, and related breakbeat genres who seek inspiration beyond algorithmic sample generation. Engineers rebuilding classic neurofunk aesthetics will find genuine utility here, particularly for layering and textural supplementation. However, producers seeking malleable, raw material for extensive sound design may find the processed nature of these samples limiting.
Among comparable offerings, the Neuro DnB Wav Pack occupies a middle ground - more specialized than generalist drum and bass libraries but less esoteric than genre-specific archives. Its value proposition depends on your workflow: it functions best as a reference library and supplementary source rather than a primary sound design tool. For neurofunk specialists, the sonic authenticity justifies inclusion in an established toolkit.
