About this plugin
Niche Audio's DnB Skyline represents a thoughtfully curated collection designed specifically for drum and bass production within Ableton Live 9 and Native Instruments Maschine 2.0. Rather than functioning as a conventional effects plugin, this pack operates as a comprehensive production toolkit combining 13 fully realized projects, 17 drum racks, and 288 professionally sampled sounds across melody and percussion sources.
The sonic palette reflects a deliberate curation toward atmospheric, introspective drum and bass aesthetics. Sub bass elements exhibit the depth and menace characteristic of contemporary deep drum and bass, while string pads, pianos, and chords establish the melancholic foundation that distinguishes modern progressive interpretations of the genre. The production approach mirrors the sensibilities of artists like D Bridge and Calibre - emphasizing textural sophistication over breakbeat novelty.

Each kit arrives pre-processed using native Ableton and Maschine effects chains, eliminating guesswork around signal routing and effects selection. The five specialized kits targeting breaks, sub bass, and effects synthesis provide targeted solutions rather than generic sound banks. Reference patterns included across projects offer practical mixing templates, particularly valuable for producers still developing their approach to contemporary drum and bass balance and arrangement.
This collection functions most effectively for producers seeking stylistic direction within the atmospheric drum and bass sphere. Rather than the comprehensive toolkit approach of broader sample libraries, DnB Skyline assumes a specific sonic vision, making it most suitable for those already working within or exploring this aesthetic territory. The organization and pre-mixing standards meet professional standards, though the material remains inherently genre-specific.
