About this plugin
Niche Audio's Abstract DNB is a comprehensive sound design toolkit purpose-built for Maschine 2.6.7 and above, targeting producers working within drum and bass and related high-tempo electronic genres. The pack ships with 13 pre-configured projects, 15 instrument groups, 43 Massive synthesizer patches, and 226 samples at 24-bit / 44.1 kHz resolution.
The sonic palette leans toward contemporary drum and bass aesthetics, emphasizing processed breakbeats, textural synthesis, and atmospheric elements rather than straightforward sample loops. Rolling break patterns dominate the percussion framework, paired with flowing synthesizer tones that occupy the mid and upper registers. Deep bass foundations and deliberately warped effects processing round out the tonal spectrum, creating a cohesive sonic environment that skews experimental without sacrificing musicality or technical clarity.

What distinguishes this pack from generic drum and bass collections is its integration with Maschine's workflow. Each project arrives with conceptual MIDI patterns pre-arranged, allowing immediate sonic evaluation and rapid iteration. This structure proves valuable for producers seeking to evaluate sounds within musical context rather than in isolation, while the underlying flexibility means experienced sound designers can deconstruct and modify every element without restriction.
Abstract DNB suits intermediate to advanced producers comfortable with Maschine's architecture who seek inspiration beyond standard loop-based approaches. The emphasis on synthesis and processing rather than raw samples makes it particularly relevant for those developing original arrangements rather than building atop existing breaks. As a genre-specific starting point, it occupies a legitimate position within Niche Audio's catalogue for practitioners seeking vetted, production-ready material.
