About this plugin
Native Instruments' Soul Choir expansion delivers a focused toolkit for vocal production rooted in contemporary R&B and hip-hop sensibilities. Developed in collaboration with Curtis "Sauce" Wilson and Rochad "Ro" Holiday - engineers whose credits include work with Ne-Yo, Ariana Grande, and Dr Dre - the library reflects a clear lineage in modern vocal arrangement and texture design.
The expansion comprises 75 vocal loops and 81 one-shots organized across multiple vocal configurations: female and male soloists, full choir arrangements, and mixed ensemble textures, plus supporting drums and synth elements. This architecture suits producers seeking pre-composed harmonic beds rather than purely technical vocal processing. The loops lean toward lush, layered harmonies and ad-lib passages that work as compositional building blocks rather than raw material for manipulation.

Where Soul Choir distinguishes itself is in its emphasis on organic depth. Unlike synthetic or heavily processed vocal tools, these samples maintain the acoustic character of recorded performances while benefiting from studio-grade treatment. The phoneme loop suggests strategic design for creating custom vocal pads and time-stretched atmospherics.
This expansion serves producers working in R&B, pop, and contemporary hip-hop production contexts most directly. Engineers seeking expansive vocal textures for arrangement or as foundational elements will find utility here; those pursuing granular vocal processing or radical sound design may find the preset-heavy approach limiting. At 222 MB, the library prioritizes quality over quantity, making it a specialist tool within Kontakt's broader ecosystem rather than a comprehensive vocal solution.
