About this plugin
Blocks Primes extends Native Instruments' modular synthesis environment with 23 purpose-built modules designed for serious sonic exploration. This expansion pack functions within Reaktor and the free Reaktor Player, adding synthesis engines, sequencers, and effects processors that complement the foundational Blocks Base system.
The collection's strength lies in its conceptual diversity. The Kodiak family provides two complementary sequencers alongside a morphing filter architecture and experimental noise generation, while the West Coast-inspired modules draw directly from Buchla's philosophy of playful, unpredictable synthesis. Native has ported acclaimed technology from DRIVER and MONARK into modular format, creating CPU-efficient blocks optimized for experimental patching.

The included 50+ preset Racks function as fully-realized synthesizers rather than simple starting points. These patches range from feedback-based drones and sequenced distortion modules to percussive and ambient textures, offering both immediate usability and educational value for understanding complex signal flow.
Blocks Primes best serves producers and sound designers already invested in modular thinking. Those familiar with Reaktor's ecosystem will appreciate the seamless integration and expandability across third-party modules. Hardware synthesizer enthusiasts can bridge their setups using the CV connectivity module, creating genuine hybrid workflows rather than mere emulation.
As a plugin ecosystem component, Blocks Primes occupies a unique position. It's neither a self-contained instrument nor a traditional effects suite, but rather a modular expansion pack for experienced users seeking deeper synthesis capabilities within a computer-based environment. Its value depends entirely on existing Reaktor knowledge and modular synthesis experience.
