About this plugin
Coda is an effects plugin developed by Murst Instruments in collaboration with modular artist Cléry, designed for producers and sound designers working in the liminal space between musical composition and textural sound design. The plugin provides access to over 350 loops and one-shots originally crafted using Cléry's modular system, all recorded at 120 BPM and ready for time-stretching within your DAW.
The sonic palette is organized across four distinct categories. Drum loops deliver percussive material sourced directly from modular synthesis, offering unconventional rhythmic textures rather than conventional kicks and snares. The Texture folder explores granular synthesis and drone-based material, providing atmospheric foundations and evolving pads. Synth loops range from West Coast atonal sequences to more conventional arpeggiations and lead patterns, bridging experimental and accessible territory. The Ambience section presents reworked granular material originally derived from Murst's Glass instrument, creating evolving, unpredictable soundscapes.

Coda's technical approach prioritizes sonic nuance and timbal complexity over straightforward utility. This makes it particularly valuable for electronic music producers, film composers, and sound designers seeking unconventional source material for layering, processing, and granular manipulation. The included Ableton Live presets provide immediate integration for Live users, though the plugin functions as a standard sampler interface suitable for any DAW capable of audio manipulation.
Among contemporary texture-focused tools, Coda distinguishes itself through the credibility of its creators and the coherence of its sonic vision. Rather than attempting comprehensive versatility, it commits to a specific aesthetic that rewards thoughtful integration into broader production workflows.
