About this plugin
Oxide is a curated metal sound effects library from Minimal Audio that assembles 60+ processed percussion and textural elements sourced from physical metal objects. The plugin's core strength lies in its production methodology: the team recorded raw material from scrap metal, antiques, and bowed metals, then applied rigorous signal processing to transform these recordings into usable, mix-ready assets. This approach yields a character distinct from purely synthetic metal sounds - there's an organic complexity beneath the polished, cinematic veneer.
The library divides into four functional categories: 15 rhythmic loops that range from understated metallic textures to propulsive patterns; 14 one-shots for discrete impacts and tonal elements; 15 impact sounds optimized for stabs and punctuation; and 20 atmospheric pads that blur the line between textural sound design and ambient accompaniment. All content ships as 24-bit/44.1kHz WAV files, totaling 360 MB across 64 audio files.

Oxide serves producers working in trailer music, cinematic composition, and experimental electronic production most directly. The loops integrate effectively into tension-building passages and rhythmic frameworks, while the impacts function as both percussive elements and textural flavoring for existing drum programming. Engineers benefit from the consistent signal chain evident across the library - these sounds sit cohesively without requiring extensive post-processing, though the material responds well to subtle EQ and compression.
Compared to general-purpose percussion libraries, Oxide occupies a narrower but deeper niche. It lacks the versatility of comprehensive drum kits but compensates with sonic sophistication and immediate aesthetic coherence. For projects demanding distinctive metallic textures with production polish already baked in, the library justifies its focused approach.
