About this plugin
MModernCompressor distills MeldaProduction's comprehensive MDynamics engine into a streamlined tool designed for working engineers who need reliable compression without navigating extensive parameter sets. The plugin handles mono, stereo, and up to 8-channel surround configurations, making it equally viable for music production and post-production workflows.
The sonic approach prioritizes transparency, supported by adjustable upsampling up to 16x to mitigate aliasing artifacts. This technical foundation allows the compressor to maintain clarity across aggressive settings, though the inherent character leans toward modern, clean dynamics control rather than colored or characterful compression.

What distinguishes MModernCompressor is its metering architecture. Beyond standard gain reduction displays, it incorporates ITU-R BS.1770-1 and EBU 3341 compliant loudness measurement alongside a loudness distribution analyzer. This analytical layer provides genuine utility for mastering or broadcast work, and the auto-set functionality can establish baseline parameters from analysis data, reducing setup time on unfamiliar sources.
The interface exemplifies MeldaProduction's design philosophy: resizable GUI, MIDI learn functionality, and multi-method parameter editing accommodate various workflow preferences. Preset management includes cloud sharing, though this remains secondary to core performance.
MModernCompressor serves mix engineers seeking dependable, transparent compression with professional metering tools. It's particularly valuable in surround mixing and mastering contexts where loudness standards compliance matters. Among competitive options, it occupies the practical middle ground between simplified interfaces and deep customization, backed by proven DSP optimization for CPU efficiency.
