About this plugin
McDSP's 6030 Ultimate Compressor stands as a comprehensive dynamic control toolkit built on decades of algorithm refinement. Rather than a single processor, this plugin houses ten distinct compression topologies, each engineered to address specific mixing and mastering scenarios with precision and musicality.
The collection spans from character-driven emulations to transparent control modules. The U670 reimagines the Fairchild 670 with modernized attack characteristics suited to contemporary production, while the Moo Tube delivers all-tube warmth through carefully redesigned midrange sensitivity and frequency response. The iComp takes a different approach entirely, automatically calculating attack and release times from threshold and ratio settings - an intelligent solution for time-constrained workflows. The Opto models employ McDSP's proprietary key signal circuits for improved response tracking, while the British-C adds internal safeguards against distortion at extreme settings, borrowing design philosophy from high-end analog compressors.

This native version runs on standard CPU processing, making it accessible to any DAW user without requiring specialized hardware or DSP cards. The interface prioritizes clarity and speed, presenting controls intuitively while maintaining the sophistication professional users demand.
The 6030 serves mix engineers seeking reliable, sonically distinct compression across multiple sources, mastering professionals requiring transparent yet musical dynamic control, and producers who benefit from having established sonic signatures immediately available. Among plugin compressors, McDSP's approach distinguishes itself through direct algorithm lineage to their respected hardware designs and genuine tonal variety across modules rather than superficial parameter variations.
