About this plugin
Threads represents a thoughtfully curated expansion for the CUBE platform that repositions orchestral strings as a modern sound design resource rather than a traditional sample library. Drawing on 1,400 samples recorded at Sonic Fuel Studios in Los Angeles, the expansion combines conventional solo string articulations with processed, bowed, and plucked textures that occupy an unconventional sonic territory between classical and contemporary electronic music.
The core strength of Threads lies in its layering approach. Rather than presenting raw samples, the developers have applied deliberate processing and sound design techniques to create hybrid textures that work intuitively in modern production contexts. This philosophy extends to the 120 included presets, which emphasize atmospheric density and textural complexity over traditional orchestral realism. The 35 sound sources provide sufficient variety to support both delicate, sustained pads and more aggressive, rhythmically engaged material.

For producers working in film scoring, ambient music, or experimental electronic production, Threads offers a refined alternative to standard string libraries. The processed character makes it particularly valuable for those seeking orchestral instrumentation without conventional orchestral aesthetics. Experienced sound designers will appreciate the creative foundation the samples provide, though the reliance on presets may limit appeal for users accustomed to deep sample editing capabilities.
Positioned within the CUBE ecosystem, Threads complements rather than competes with dedicated orchestral suites. Its architectural consistency with other CUBE expansions makes integration straightforward for existing platform users. The sonic palette distinguishes it from conventional string libraries through deliberate processing rather than recording technique alone.
