PSI Toms

PSI Toms is a professionally sampled tom drum library for Native Instruments Kontakt that captures five acoustic drums from Premier and Tama kits with exceptional depth and flexibility. The collection comprises a Premier 18" floor tom, Tama 16" floor tom with alternate tuning, two Tama rack toms at 12" and 10", and a Premier 8" high tom with dual tuning options. Each drum was recorded with three distinct articulations - sticks, soft beater, and heavily dampened - across four microphone positions: two close mics, overhead pair, and room mics. This multi-mic approach yields 2,252 total samples captured in a professional studio using high-end equipment including Telefunken M82, Shure MD421, AKG 414 BUL, and Neumann KM184 microphones routed through API and Neve preamps.

The interface prioritizes practical control over visual appeal. Users can balance all four mic sources individually, then apply independent tuning, filtering, and panning to sculpt each drum's character.
