About this plugin
Loot Audio's BOCS Bundle is a Kontakt library that systematically deconstructs the sampling and synthesis methodology of Boards of Canada, translating their characteristic aesthetic into a usable toolkit for contemporary producers. Rather than attempting to replicate finished tracks, the library focuses on capturing the tonal qualities that define the duo's work: the dusty, slightly degraded character of tape-based sampling combined with the harmonic coloration of vintage analog circuitry.
The core architecture centers on two parallel sound modules, each capable of hosting any of ten distinct sample sources derived from VHS recordings, valve amplifiers, and analog synthesizers. The blend functionality allows creative interpolation between module pairs, generating hybrid timbres while maintaining individual patch character. This approach yields substantially more sonic variation than straightforward layering. Modulation controls operate across all major parameters - filter frequency, attack, release, and pan - enabling time-based transformations that move beyond static processing. The implementation supports real-time parameter adjustment, which is essential for the evolving textural shifts that characterize BoC's aesthetic.

The library contains 55 total patches distributed across three previously released volumes, now consolidated into a single bundle. The included WAV files support integration outside Kontakt, useful for producers working in non-Native Instruments environments.
BOCS Bundle is best suited for electronic and experimental producers seeking atmospheric, sample-based source material with inherent vintage character. While the sonic palette is decidedly specialized, the modulation architecture and blending system provide sufficient flexibility to extend the library's application beyond strict genre imitation into broader ambient and instrumental electronic contexts.
