About this plugin
Loopmasters' Nu Jazz & Neo Soul plugin delivers a curated collection of production tools designed around the aesthetic parameters of contemporary jazz fusion and modern soul music. The sound set draws from the harmonic complexity and rhythmic sophistication that defines artists operating in the intersection of these genres - think Robert Glasper, Thundercat, and Kamasi Washington rather than vintage Blue Note sessions.
The plugin's technical architecture centers on a combination of processed loops, sampled instrumentation, and synthesis routines that emphasize warm midrange tonality and sophisticated chord voicings. Where it distinguishes itself from broader jazz libraries is the deliberate focus on modern production contexts: the samples integrate cleanly into contemporary beat structures without requiring extensive resampling or time-stretching artifacts. The preset architecture reflects real-world studio applications - chord progressions nest naturally alongside drum patterns, and the included effects chains favor subtle saturation and analog-modeled compression over aggressive processing.

This tool occupies solid middle ground within Loopmasters' catalog. It's neither the most sonically aggressive nor the most experimental offering, but executes its narrow remit with professional competence. The library works best for producers already comfortable with loop-based composition or those seeking tasteful textural layers rather than foundational harmonic material. Engineers working in television and film scoring will find particular value in the understated sophistication of the chord progressions and the generally sophisticated orchestration choices that underpin the patches.
