About this plugin
Loopmasters' Artisan Audio collection targets the drum and bass producer seeking granular control over breakbeat texture and rhythmic processing. This effects plugin operates as a specialized toolkit rather than a conventional processor, bundling together drum slicing, time-stretching, and granular manipulation tools calibrated specifically for the technical demands of fast breakbeats and rolling bass sequences.
The plugin distinguishes itself through its approach to transient handling. Rather than applying generic compression or EQ, it allows users to isolate and reshape individual drum hits within complex breakbeats, maintaining coherence across tempos while preserving the sonic character that defines contemporary liquid funk and tech step aesthetics. The granular engine particularly benefits producers working with layered breaks, enabling textural variations without losing the punchy articulation essential to the genre.

For drum and bass specialists, this toolkit addresses a legitimate workflow gap. Generic drum machines and standard DAW tools often require extensive manual editing to achieve the precision breaks demand. Artisan Audio condenses this process while offering sonic possibilities beyond straightforward time-stretching - pitch manipulation, grain density control, and envelope reshaping allow creative recontextualization of source material.
The plugin's positioning among competitors sits between full-featured drum sampler software and basic time-stretching utilities. It lacks the comprehensive sample library integration of dedicated workstations but exceeds the capabilities of standard elastic audio processors. The trade-off is justified for producers whose work centers on breakbeat manipulation and rhythmic experimentation rather than general-purpose production. Its learning curve proves moderate for experienced producers accustomed to granular synthesis.
