About this plugin
SynthMaster One represents KV331 Audio's streamlined approach to wavetable synthesis, built on the proven architecture of its larger sibling but optimized for immediate usability. The synthesizer combines wavetable and waveform synthesis with a deliberately uncluttered interface that prioritizes workflow efficiency without sacrificing sonic depth. The engine delivers the tonal character users expect from KV331's lineage while offering genuine compositional flexibility through its implementation of wavetable morphing and modulation capabilities.
This crossgrade option makes sense specifically for SynthMaster 2 owners seeking a lighter CPU footprint or simplified interface without abandoning their existing investment. The 1,250 factory presets - including recent additions from producer BT and others - provide substantial starting points, though the real value emerges when diving into sound design. The three envelope algorithms merit attention: the Digital engine delivers the expected precision, while Profat and Oobee model respected analog synthesizer behavior, offering subtle but worthwhile tonal coloration for those pursuing warmer characteristics.

The microtuning system deserves mention for contemporary music practitioners. Support for alternate tuning scales beyond equal temperament, combined with adjustable keyboard mapping and A4 reference frequency, positions SynthMaster One competitively for experimental and microtonal composition. Cloud-based preset synchronization and cross-platform compatibility address practical workflow concerns for producers juggling multiple machines.
SynthMaster One occupies a practical middle ground: more capable than basic preset synthesizers yet less demanding than comprehensive sound design environments. It serves producers prioritizing quick iteration and sonic quality over modulation matrix complexity, making it particularly suitable for electronic music production, scoring, and sound design where results matter more than feature density.
