About this plugin
The Ringmojo ring modulator from Kuassa delivers the classic metallic character of analog ring modulation with contemporary modulation depth that ranges from subtle harmonic enrichment to outright sonic destruction. The plugin employs a straightforward architecture centered on a carrier oscillator whose frequency can be set independently or synced to your DAW's tempo, which proves essential for rhythmic integration in contemporary production contexts.
The core strength lies in its modulation capabilities. Five selectable LFO waveforms provide standard sine and square options alongside more complex alternatives, while the waveform shaping parameter allows real-time morphing between these shapes during performance. This flexibility distinguishes Ringmojo from vintage hardware equivalents, enabling dynamic tonal sweeps that would otherwise require multiple units or external modulation sources.

Sonically, the plugin excels at generating the bell-like, inharmonic tones characteristic of ring modulation, making it particularly valuable for sound design, electronic composition, and textural processing. The wet/dry mix control prevents complete signal destruction, allowing integration into conventional mixing chains rather than relegating the effect strictly to novelty usage.
Ringmojo suits producers seeking vintage modulation character without sonic limitations, as well as experimental electronic musicians pursuing chaotic, complex harmonics. Its integration within Amplifikation 360 provides additional signal routing flexibility for those invested in Kuassa's modular ecosystem.
While ring modulators remain specialized tools rather than everyday processors, Ringmojo executes the fundamental operation with clarity and usable control. Its appeal rests firmly within sound design and experimental contexts rather than transparent production usage.
