About this plugin
Wildhunt - Medieval Hunting Percussion represents Keepforest's focused approach to extracting cinematic texture from period instruments and unconventional sound sources. Rather than offering comprehensive orchestral breadth, this plugin concentrates on the specific sonic palette of medieval hunting instruments and associated percussion, captured through their proprietary multi-microphone array methodology. The result is a remarkably detailed, spatially aware library optimized for scoring applications demanding authentic historical texture without sacrificing modern production flexibility.
The plugin's rhythmic engine distinguishes itself by prioritizing pulse-driven layering over melodic sequencing, making it particularly effective for building tension and establishing atmospheric foundation rather than carrying harmonic content. This design philosophy positions Wildhunt as a complementary tool within larger orchestral templates, where its strengths lie in augmenting traditional percussion with character-driven, era-specific articulations.

The 3000+ rhythm presets provide substantial starting points, though experienced producers will likely find greater value in the underlying 481 Elements Multis, which offer discrete sonic building blocks for custom arrangement. The up to 8 microphone positions grant meaningful control over proximity and ambience, allowing engineers to integrate Wildhunt cohesively within various recording environments and mixing strategies.
Wildhunt serves composers and sound designers working in fantasy, historical drama, and prestige television most effectively. It lacks the melodic instrument diversity necessary for comprehensive orchestration but excels as a specialized addition to existing percussion libraries. For those already invested in Keepforest's ecosystem, particularly owners of Berserkr, the seamless integration justifies inclusion. Standalone, it requires complementary tools but rewards focused compositional intent.
