About this plugin
Keepforest's Vikings plugin bridges orchestral grandeur with raw, percussive aggression, designed specifically for cinematic scores that demand both epic sweep and primal intensity. The library draws from Scandinavian mythology and contemporary action cinema, delivering organic sound design built from recordings of live strings, percussion, guitars, and experimental sound design rather than synthetic manipulation.
The core toolkit includes over 500 elements spanning acoustic rolls, braams, benders, rises, and impact hits - each meticulously recorded and engineered for maximum clarity within dense mixes. The pulse designer distinguishes Vikings from competing libraries, allowing users to generate rhythmic variations and custom stem combinations without extensive manual layering. This proves invaluable for composers working under deadline pressure or seeking rapid iteration across multiple cues.

The effect rack provides meaningful tonal shaping beyond stock processing, enabling substantial character modification while preserving the recordings' organic foundation. The intuitive interface makes navigation straightforward, though the library's real strength emerges through deliberate layering and rhythmic orchestration rather than one-shot convenience.
Vikings excels for composers scoring television, film, and game projects demanding Scandinavian-influenced aesthetics or hybrid action sequences blending orchestral and folk instrumentation. It serves experienced producers who understand sound design principles and can leverage the extensive stem library creatively. Less suited for producers seeking pre-designed melodic content or those preferring immediate sonic gratification, Vikings rewards technical engagement and compositional intention. Among cinematic percussion libraries, it occupies distinctive territory - neither purely orchestral nor purely percussive, but deliberately positioned at their intersection.
