About this plugin
Keepforest's Classic Metal Hits delivers 130 meticulously recorded impact samples designed for composers working in cinematic, trailer, and aggressive music contexts. The collection draws from unconventional source material - metal sheets, automotive components, tools, and glass objects - all captured across professional studios and resonant architectural spaces to yield naturally rich decay characteristics absent from heavily processed libraries.
The sample organization reflects practical workflow considerations. Material is categorized into Close, Mid, and Far perspectives, allowing producers to construct layered impact sequences with genuine spatial variation rather than relying solely on reverb processing. Close-miked samples preserve transient detail and metallic texture, while distant recordings capture the ambient character of the recording spaces, providing organic tail material that integrates seamlessly into larger mixes.

The sonic character leans toward aggressive physicality - these are weighted, substantial impacts rather than bright, synthetic textures. The recording methodology, which exploits natural room resonance through variable microphone placement, results in samples with inherent dimensionality that survives aggressive pitch-shifting and timestretching applications common in trailer and soundtrack production.
This collection serves experienced producers and sound designers working in high-impact media most effectively. The material requires knowledgeable curation and layering to achieve professional results, making it less suitable for preset-dependent workflows. At 130 samples across three distance categories, the library offers sufficient variety for complex sequences without overwhelming editorial overhead. As royalty-free content, the samples present no licensing complications for commercial applications.
